Gaijin • Tokyo • Undergound

I picked this pair of underwear from the store called TopMan in Harajuku. They are these cute white and orange trunks with little monsters all over them! They are comfortable and i suggest getting pair if you can. They run for about 1200yen.

Ogikubo station is 15 minutes from shinjuku in west Tokyo there is a great vegetarian indian curry buffet on the station South side, for only 1000yen during lunch time. Three curries, rice, two types of nan, regular and black sesame along with salad. All worth it, but becareful, the black strips in the food are the chilis, they are extremely hot!

I found refuge in the Mens Isetan store in Shinjuku trying to escape the heat. I wandered around looking at the fashion that i could not fit into, but it was pretty and i was cooled off. I was checking out this vintage style burnt orange fall jacket, but the got slapped in the face witht he posted price. The cost of the jacket is almost 70,000yen. That is the cost of my rent right now! I don't understand how so many young people are able to go shopping here, the prices are insane.

Do you think its reasonable, or am i just being crazy?

I was wandering the area across from the shinjuku Ni-chome area after trying to find large size shoe, which was a lost mission. But looking for a place to grab dinner, i found this cute fat boy character eating a bowl of whatever. I wanted to eat there but the menu was all in Kanji and was too expensive, so i opted for just taking a picture of the mascot.

Walking down Kanpachi dori, which is one of the major streets that cuts Noth and South through West Tokyo i found this gas station. Gas stations are actually kind of rare here compared with America, which were on every corner. I was amused not only with the "Smile Life With" but the "JOMO". If said in a Spanish sounding way, J is like H; for example Jose is an "H" sound so the slogan would say "Smile Life With HOMO".

OK thats all. =P

 I met with my friend Tadashi to catch up over lunch and a round of karaoke. We stopped in to a place he likes to eat pasta at. I didnt catch the name, but it was damn good pasta! It was a chicken and tomato pasta with cheese. Simple but delicious!! I remember the location, so i must go back and eat there again, also to remember to get the name of the place.

I was going through some of my old iPhone pics and found this picture which i loved because it was the end to Mr. James. The campaign had ended and he was tossed away, thank god!

Mr. James was for the McDonalds Nippon All-stars limited edition burgers last summer. The character of Mr. James was seen as negative to foreigners, with the overweight glasses wearing white guy was speaking pooly pronounced Japanese. Many foreigners living in Japan, including me did not like this representation, showing this man as the face to foreigners living in Japan.
